This heartfelt verse about an ageing Mother, will resound with many of us children out there.
A Mother's Plea ...
As I sit within this chair,
Who do you see as you stand there?
Greying hair & eyes now dim,
Beauty gone & frail of limb,
But come with me down memory lane,
When I am just a girl again,
Tripping the dance floor, oh so light,
Never a care, my world was bright.
Boyfriends knocking at my door,
Yes, this I had & so much more,
Please spare a little thought for me,
I'm not exactly what you see,
I am your Mom, and still the same,
It's just old age that is to blame,
Now, when you leave & close the door,
Remember this, not what you saw.
